Did you know that your diet could be affecting how flexible you are? That’s right. You could actually improve your flexibility just by cleaning up your diet.
Have you ever gone on a cleanse or detox for a few days or more? Whenever I have, one of the noticeable differences was being able to bend further into my stretches. My flexibility always increased. How is that possible?
There are certain foods that promote inflammation in your body causing your joints to feel stiff. By reducing your intake of these foods and adding some foods that are anti-inflammatory, you're helping your body out big time! As great as a detox and cleanse can be for our bodies, it’s not a daily solution.
In today’s blog I talk about the correlation of inflexibility and inflammation, and what I do to help make things easier on my body.
Thanks for watching! As promised here is my Purple Warrior recipe:
- 2-4oz Aloe Gel OR 8oz Aloe Juice
- 1 cup of chopped red cabbage
- ½ cup frozen blueberries
- 1 frozen banana
- 8 oz of water *(only use this if using the Aloe Gel)
Aloe Juice Method: In a blender add the aloe juice, cabbage, blueberries and banana. Blend until smooth and serve right away.
Aloe Gel Method: Pour 2-4oz of the aloe gel into a tall glass. In a blender add the cabbage, blueberries, banana, and water. (Note: If you're looking for extra hydration you can substitute coconut water for regular water.) Blend until smooth and then pour into the glass with the gel. You can use a spoon to mix the gel and blended mixture together. Serve right away.
This is a great smoothie to promote a healthier gut and reduce inflammation in your body. If you’re inflexible like I was then you will want to take advantage of every option out there to give your body an edge in the stretching department. Remember to reduce your intake of processed foods, fast foods, sugar, alcohol, and gluten if you really want to make some gains.
If you know anyone who might benefit from this post or recipe please share it with them! If you have your own smoothie recipes or solutions for reducing inflammation in your body I would love to hear about it in the comments below.
